I was pretty causious when I pulled the rack out of the box. Thinking that having to do some assembly it might be a bit flimsy. My wife and I took it on a 1700 mile road trip with all types of road surfaces and took quite a beating. The rack held up GREAT and was still sturdy when we returned home. We definitely got a bang for our buck. Only recommend that if you use with 1 1/4" receiver adapter, mount trailer light or more reflective tape. It sticks out quite a bit. We will definitely be using it on future road trips.

The carrier was a cinch to assemble and use. I recently completed a 4000 mile vacation utilizing this carrier and it gave me no problems at all. The rail holds everything securely and safely. This was definately a smart buy!!!
